The unit HP-D is designed to meter sample material and additives (e.g. borate) for the purpose of analysis (e.g. for the fusion method). The exact ratio between sample and additive can be pre-selected and will be ascertained. In different “programs” the values in grams for these two materials are selected and are called by means of external systems. The scale of the weighing system used is accurate to ± 0.0001g.
General functional description:
The sample material is placed in the input fed hopper manually or via robot and the dosing unit produces the desired ratio of ingredients.
After the start, approx. 50% of the additive passes through vibratory feeders to a crucible which is positioned on the electronic scale. Thereafter the sample material starts to be added automatically. The amount required for the desired ratio of ingredients, which can be set, is then achieved by metering the second portion of additive.
After the sample material has been metered, the remainder of the sample material is discharged and the feed equipment is automatically cleaned. The crucible filled with additive and sample material can be removed by the robot or manually. The material dosage is selected at the operator panel of the HP-D or via an external interface.
With its comprehensive and complete design, the HERZOG HP-D guarantees precise, reproducible analytical results . All modules are integrated into the machine housing and are easily accessible via doors. For the following fusion of oxidic powder samples an automatic fusion machine, model HAG-S or HAG 12, is available.
