For the extraction of precious metals (PGM’s), very complex chemical methods are used, mostly performed manually. These are time-consuming procedures in a very aggressive environment. Nucomat automated this complex procedure by a system that realises a throughput of more than 9 samples per hour without any human intervention.

  • Development of a specific leach-cap for automated systems (patented)
  • How to automate a very complex and fragile filter step
  • How to automate the recuperation of the filters
  • Hot cell technology improvement with new heating plates.

    All samples are electronically tracked and controlled by ROBIN (a central supervisory system developed by Nucomat) from registration to final result being transmitted to a database, from where the data can be validated and released for reporting-typically by a LIMS system.
